South Africa — pet food is 'farm feed' under Act 36 of 1947: registration & sale framework
South Africa's foundational feed law, the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act 36 of 1947, regulates pet food because its definition of "farm feed" explicitly covers anything "intended or offered for the feeding of domestic animals or livestock". Registration with the registering officer and compliant packing are prerequisites to sale. Detailed pet-food composition/labelling is set in subsidiary regulations under this Act (not quoted here).
