South Africa — Act 36 of 1947 §11: animal-origin material in farm feed (incl. pet food) import ban without Minister's permission
Section 11 of Act 36 of 1947 controls animal-derived material (bone and other substances of animal origin) in imported farm feed — which, per the s. 1 definition, includes pet food. Import is prohibited without the Minister's written permission and a disease-free certificate. This is the South African analogue of BSE/animal-by-product feed-safety controls.
