Feed Management Act (사료관리법) — penalties

The Feed Management Act (사료관리법) attaches criminal penalties to feed-safety and labeling violations. Two penalty articles govern the core offences.
Article 33 — Imprisonment / fine for major violations
Article 33 (벌칙, Penal Provisions) states that a person falling under any of the following is punished by imprisonment of up to 3 years or a fine of up to 30 million won — "제33조(벌칙) 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 자는 3년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만원 이하의 벌금에 처한다." The listed acts include:
- Manufacturing, importing, or selling feed, or using it as a feed ingredient, in violation of Article 14(1) — "제14조제1항을 위반하여 사료를 제조ㆍ수입 또는 판매하거나 사료의 원료로 사용한 자".
- Using feed in violation of Article 14(2) — "제14조제2항을 위반하여 사료를 사용한 자".

Article 34 — Imprisonment / fine for further specified violations
Article 34 (벌칙) punishes a person falling under any of the following with imprisonment of up to 1 year or a fine of up to 10 million won — "제34조(벌칙) 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 자는 1년 이하의 징역 또는 1천만원 이하의 벌금에 처한다." Specified acts include:
- Selling imported feed in violation of Article 7(1) — "제7조제1항을 위반하여 수입한 사료를 판매한 자".
- Manufacturing without registration, or registering by false or other improper means, in violation of Article 8(1) main clause — "제8조제1항 본문을 위반하여 등록을 하지 아니하고 제조업을 영위하거나 거짓이나 그 밖의 부정한 방법으로 등록한 자".
- Failing to appoint a feed-safety manager in violation of Article 10(1) — "제10조제1항을 위반하여 사료안전관리인을 두지 아니한 자".
- Obstructing a feed-safety manager's duties or refusing their request without just cause, in violation of Article 10(4) — "제10조제4항을 위반하여 사료안전관리인의 업무를 방해하거나 정당한 사유 없이 사료안전관리인의 요청에 따르지 아니한 자".
- Failing to manufacture, use, or preserve feed per the feed process in violation of Article 11(2) — "제11조제2항을 위반하여 사료공정에 따라 사료를 제조ㆍ사용 또는 보존하지 아니한 자".
- Manufacturing or importing feed without ingredient registration, or registering ingredients by false or other improper means, in violation of Article 12(1) — "제12조제1항을 위반하여 성분등록을 하지 아니하고 사료를 제조 또는 수입하거나 거짓이나 그 밖의 부정한 방법으로 성분등록을 한 자".
- Failing to display required labeling when selling feed, in violation of Article 13(1) — "제13조제1항을 위반하여 표시사항을 표시하지 아니하고 사료를 판매한 자".
