- 日文原文：（目的） 第一条この法律は、動物の虐待及び遺棄の防止、動物の適正な取扱いその他動物の健康及び安全の保持等の動物の愛護に関する事項を定めて国民の間に動物を愛護する気風を招来し、生命尊重、友愛及び平和の情操の涵かん養に資するとともに、動物の管理に関する事項を定めて動物による人の生命、身体及び財産に対する侵害並びに生活環境の保全上の支障を防止し、もつて人と動物の共生する社会の実現を図ることを目的とする。
