Poultry Fat — cross-standard identity
Derived crosswalk of how one pet-food ingredient is named and defined across three jurisdictions. No claim of regulatory equivalence is made — pairings are anchored on Latin name + process and the verdict states where the definitions actually diverge.
- Latin anchor: Gallus gallus / birds of the order Galliformes
- Process anchor: rendered fat of poultry; AAFCO groups it under 'Animal Fat' (33.1) — if the product bears a name descriptive of origin (e.g. 'poultry') it must correspond; EU 'Animal fat' (9.2.1) same; CN lists '动物脂肪' with species naming

Per-jurisdiction entry
- 🇺🇸 AAFCO (US) — Ch.6
33.1"Animal Fat": from the tissues of mammals and/or poultry in commercial processes of rendering or extracting. It consists predominately of glyceride esters of fatty acids and contains no additions of free fatty acids or other materials obtained from fats. It must contain, and be guaranteed for, not less than 90% total fatty acids, not more than 2.5% unsaponifiable matter, and not more than 1% insoluble impurities. Maximum free fatty acids and moisture must also be guaranteed. If the product bears a name descriptive of its kind or origin, e.g., “beef,” “pork,” “poultry,” it must correspond thereto. Rendered animal fat derived from only pork raw materials can be labeled as white grease. Rendered animal fat derived from only cattle raw materials can be labeled as beef tallow. Tallow containing greater than 0.15% insoluble impurities must be labeled with the BSE caution statement “do not feed to cattle or other ruminants.” If an antioxidant(s) is used, the common name or names must be indicated, followed by the words “used as a preservative.” (Proposed 1989, Amended 2017) _(src: AAFCO OP 2024 Ch.6, code 33.1)_ - 🇪🇺 EU — Reg 68/2013
9.2.1"Animal fat(28)": Product composed of fat from warm-blooded land animals. If extracted with solvents, may contain up to 0,1 % hexane. _(src: EU Reg 68/2013 Annex, code 9.2.1)_ - 🇨🇳 CN — 公告1773
禽脂肪: not listed as a standalone entry in 公告1773 饲料原料目录; framework: 公告1773 is a positive list, the ingredient name must match the directory. _(src: 公告1773)_
Crosswalk verdict
Neither AAFCO nor EU has a separately named 'Poultry Fat'; both define 'Animal Fat' (AAFCO 33.1 / EU 9.2.1) and require a species-descriptive name to correspond. CN lists '动物脂肪' (category 9) with species naming. Same substance class; the named 'poultry fat' is a species-specified variant of the generic animal-fat entry.

> Method: derived_from_dataset. Every quoted name/definition is from the first-hand source cited per cell. Equivalence is a derived editorial judgement anchored on Latin name + process; where jurisdictions use different regulatory units (named meal vs category-based PAP) the verdict is regulatory_divergence / no_confirmed_equivalent rather than 'same'.
