Flat-Coated Retriever — Histiocytosis, malignant (hereditary; OMIA-verified breed predisposition)
Source: first-hand OMIA (University of Sydney) breed-specific hereditary-disorder record, saved verbatim to source_file; every claim below is a C1 byte-substring of it.
Claims
Breed: Flat-Coated Retriever (Dog)Disorder:Mode of inheritance: MultifactorialDefect: yesGen test: A pre-test, based on the results of Shearin et al. (2012) is available from Antagene: http://www.antagene.com/en/commander/histiocytic-sarcoma-pre-test. Given the results reported by Asada et al. (2019), namely that The mutation was detected in [only] 26 of 64 [affected] dogs (41%) and their conclusion that HS cells might acquire insAT in the TP53 gene during development of metastasis, but insAT was not a prognostic factor in canine HS, it would seem that insAT is not a useful marker. It has, therefore, been removed from the OMIA table of likely causal variants.
