Korean pet feed labeling under Annex 15-2 (Article 10(1) of the Feed Standards and Specifications; mandatory Korean language): every dog/cat feed label must show the type of pet feed — "complete pet feed" (only if conforming to NIAS nutritional standards, provable through feed testing/accredited institutions) or "other pet feed" with its subcategory (e.g., treats (freeze-dried), nutritional supplement, puppy milk). Product name rules (Article 5): if a product name uses an ingredient name, that ingredient's content ratio (%) must be displayed in the ingredient name column, on a formulation or as-fed basis with the basis indicated (example: Salmon (formulation basis 22%)). Ingredient labeling (Article 8): all ingredient names in descending order of usage (under 2% by weight exempt from ordering); compound ingredients list two or more representative ingredients in parentheses; products using specific meat cuts display the cut name; labeling must not suggest the product is entirely meat unless meat content is shown at the same location; fish meal/meat meal/bone meal may not be labeled as "OO meat" (prescribed alternative display names apply). Emphasized labeling (Article 10): "organic" per the Environment-Friendly Agriculture Act; "natural" and "100%" only under defined conditions; bacterial-content claims state the count per gram; prohibited are nutrient claims for absent nutrients, flavor pictures when synthetic flavoring supplies the taste (with exceptions), "no preservatives/no coloring" unless truly absent including carry-over, and "ionized/living/medicinal water". False or exaggerated labeling/advertising scope is defined in Article 14; general health-maintenance and recognized nutrient-function expressions are allowed, disease-treatment claims are not.
