The AAFCO Dog and Cat Food Nutrient Profiles evolved minimally between 2013, 2014, and 2015. 2013 was the baseline (single 2.5% Ca max for all life stages). 2014 split Ca max into 1.8% (Growth & Reproduction) and 2.5% (Adult Maintenance), driven by CNES concerns about large-breed puppy skeletal development; per the 2014 Appendix A revised tables, all other values are identical between 2013 and 2014. A cat food nutrient profile table appears in the 2015 Pet Food Report (local extraction partial, some values missing). From 2016 onward the values carried forward: the AAFCO 2024 Official Publication is a carry-over of the 2016 revisions, and the profiles were last substantively updated in 2014/2016. Protein minimums remained 22.5% DM (dog G&R) and 18% DM (dog adult) throughout. Cat minimums remained 30% DM (G&R) and 26% DM (adult) throughout.
