AAFCO 2013 baseline dog

AAFCO 2013 Official Publication established the baseline Dog Food Nutrient Profiles that served as the predecessor for the 2014 transitional year. Key values (per the 2013/2014 profiles, which are identical except for the 2014 calcium maximum split): Crude Protein minimum 22.5% DM for Growth & Reproduction, 18.0% DM for Adult Maintenance; Crude Fat minimum 8.5% DM (G&R) / 5.5% DM (Adult); Calcium minimum 1.2% DM (G&R) / 0.5% DM (Adult); Calcium maximum was a single 2.5% DM for all life stages in 2013 (this was split in 2014 into 1.8% for G&R / 2.5% for Adult Maintenance); Phosphorus minimum 1.0% DM (G&R) / 0.4% DM (Adult); Phosphorus maximum 1.6% DM. The 2013 baseline is critical for understanding the 2014 Ca max split and remains the reference point for historical comparisons.
