Our Synthesis Approach
PetFood Data Station does not republish source documents. We synthesize — extracting the key values, definitions, and regulatory rules from public documents and presenting them as queryable, citation-rich RAG topics. Each topic's meta.json contains a sources array pointing to the original document.
Where source documents are in non-English (Korean 사료관리법, Japanese ペット食品安全法, Chinese GB/T standards), we provide English translations for international accessibility. The original-language source remains authoritative.

Known Gaps
We are transparent about what we do not have:
- EU Reg 2020/354 entries 31-49 — These entries are absent from the regulation itself (the 2008/38/EC predecessor did not include them, and 2020/354 retained the gap). This is a legal gap in the source document, not a data omission. Total PARNUT entries = 44 (10-30 + 50-72).
- FEDIAF other lifestages — Only adult maintenance is fully covered (5 key nutrients). Growth/reproduction, gestation/lactation, and senior life stages are not yet synthesized.
- Real-time updates — Sources are updated periodically (most recently 2026-07-16). New regulations or amendments may have a 30-90 day ingestion lag.

We aim to refresh each source at least annually. Recent update log:
