Life-stage × jurisdiction vitamin matrix (dog & cat growth / reproduction)
Minimum (and where set, maximum) vitamin levels for growth & reproduction — the growth-side counterpart of life_stage_nutrient_matrix_vitamins (fat-soluble, adult) and life_stage_nutrient_matrix_water_soluble_vitamins (adult). Standards use different native units, so all values are reconciled to per-kg DM (IU/kg DM, mg/kg DM or µg/kg DM):
- AAFCO 2026 (US): per-kg DM directly (single growth-and-reproduction profile).
- FEDIAF 2025 (EU): per 100 g DM (Table III-3a/4a) → converted ×10; dog early
(< 14 wk & reproduction) / late (≥ 14 wk) split; cat growth and reproduction minima are identical in the parsed index (shown as one column).
- NIAS 2024 (KR): per 100 g DM (표 2-17a dog 초기/후기; 표 2-17e cat) → converted ×10.
Every numeric cell is a verbatim value of the named source JSON; bracketed (raw×10) figures are the labelled conversions. Cells not set by a standard are honest gaps, never interpolated.

Growth-stage vitamin minimums are within ~20 % across the three standards for most vitamins; choline is the widest spread (FEDIAF 1700 vs AAFCO/NIAS 1360 mg/kg DM). FEDIAF sets no vitamin A/D maximum keys for growth in the parsed index (the printed Table III-3a maxima — 40 000 IU / 320 IU per 100 g DM — are carried verbatim in fediaf_historical_2025_dog_growth_reproduction) → honest gap here. Vitamin K and biotin are unset for dogs by all three standards (AAFCO sets biotin only for cats; FEDIAF Table III-3a prints "-" for both).

Cat growth shows the adult pattern amplified: AAFCO B3 niacin 60 vs FEDIAF/NIAS 32 mg/kg DM, and vitamin A FEDIAF 9000 vs AAFCO/NIAS 6668 IU/kg DM. The vitamin D maximum is far looser under AAFCO/NIAS (30080 IU/kg DM) than FEDIAF (30000 IU/kg DM, ×10 of the 3 000 per 100 g DM table value). Biotin is a cat-only entry on all three standards (72 vs 70 vs 70 µg/kg DM); AAFCO alone sets a vitamin K minimum (0.1 mg/kg DM).
Method & honest-gap notes
- Source of truth:
pdf-parsed/cross_standard_nutrient_index.json—aafco_us_2026
(dog_growth_reproduction / cat_growth_reproduction) and fediaf_2025_summary.lifestages (dog_early_growth, dog_late_growth, cat_growth); plus pdf-parsed/kr-2026/korea_nias_nutrient_standard.json tables 표 2-17a (dog 성장 및 번식기) and 표 2-17e (cat 성장 및 번식기).
- FEDIAF/NIAS basis: both publish these vitamins per 100 g DM (the
*_mgkg_dm/
*_iukg_dm key names are label artefacts — same correction as documented in life_stage_nutrient_matrix_water_soluble_vitamins); the ×10 conversion to per-kg DM is exact. Note the adult fat-soluble topic life_stage_nutrient_matrix_vitamins displayed FEDIAF per-100 g values unreconciled next to per-kg values; this growth topic reconciles all three standards to per-kg DM. (The adult topic's FEDIAF column was reconciled ×10 in batch XSTD-CAT-REPRO-FIX, 2026-09-21.)
- AAFCO µg vitamins: folic acid / B12 / biotin are published by AAFCO in mg/kg DM
(0.216 / 0.028 / 0.072) and shown here as µg/kg DM (216 / 28 / 72) to match the FEDIAF/NIAS µg basis.
- Reproduce: each quoted number is a verbatim value of the source JSON; ×10 and mg→µg
figures are labelled conversions (claims_detail in _source.json).
