IMPORT REGULATIONS\nHong Kong’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) is the government authority\nresponsible for pet food oversight. Pet food in Hong Kong is not subject to specific regulations\ngoverning production, importation, sales, labeling, or labeling claims, and there are no tariffs or taxes on\npet food imports. Import permits are not required. However, the AFCD encourages importers to\ninclude a veterinary certificate endorsed by the competent veterinary authority in the exporting\ncountry to accompany shipments exported to Hong Kong, particularly for products containing\ningredients derived from ruminant, porcine, poultry, or milk sources. The recommended certificate\nwording is provided in an AFCD Circular.\n","sources":["International standards (AAFCO / FEDIAF / WSAVA) — HK Section 14 (retrieved 2026-07-18)"],"source":{"authority":"International standards (AAFCO / FEDIAF / WSAVA)","title":"HK Section 14","url":"https://www.oie.int/","retrieved":"2026-07-18","ref":"","doc_type":"official PDF","source_document":"Hong Kong pet food regulations","verification_file":"hk_local.pdf"},"source_document":"Hong Kong pet food regulations","source_file":"hk_local.pdf","trust":{"authority_tier":"T1","fidelity":"verbatim","license":null,"display_grade":"A"},"tokens_estimated":503,"generated_at":null,"tip":"Use /api/v1/topics to discover more topics. /api/v1/nutrient for precise single-point queries. /api/v1/cross_compare for 2-3 standard comparisons."}
