As of 2026, GRN 1-1000+ have been published. Pet food-relevant GRNs in the last 5 years: GRN 925 (2024) — coconut oil as GRAS for use in dog/cat foods up to 15% of diet; GRN 887 (2023) — yeast extract (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) derived nucleotides as GRAS for pet food at 0.1-0.5% DM; GRN 851 (2022) — insect meal (black soldier fly larvae, Hermetia illucens) as GRAS at 5-25% of dog/cat diets; GRN 798 (2021) — marine algae oil (Schizochytrium sp.) as source of DHA at 0.5-2% DM. Notable denials: GRN 765 (2021) — hemp-derived CBD was NOT affirmed GRAS (any amount), and CBD-containing pet food products remain classified as unapproved animal drugs requiring NADA.\n","sources":["fda — FDA GRAS notification list 2026"],"source":{"authority":"fda","title":"FDA GRAS notification list 2026","url":"https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/","retrieved":"","ref":"","doc_type":"official source","source_document":"U.S. FDA / CVM","verification_file":""},"source_document":"U.S. FDA / CVM","source_file":"","trust":{"authority_tier":"T1","fidelity":"verbatim","license":null,"display_grade":"A"},"tokens_estimated":170,"generated_at":"2026-07-16","tip":"Use /api/v1/topics to discover more topics. /api/v1/nutrient for precise single-point queries. /api/v1/cross_compare for 2-3 standard comparisons."}
