It shall not contain added extraneous materials not provided for in the definition. The definition is intended to cover those individual rendered animal tissue products that cannot meet the criteria set forth elsewhere in its section, and it is not intended to be used to label a mixture of animal tissue products. (Proposed 1985, Amended 1992, Adopted 1993.) Unlike definition 9.40 (Meat Meal), the 9.42 definition does not itself fix crude protein, fat, ash, calcium or phosphorus numeric specifications — compositional figures quoted in the trade (e.g., \"50% crude protein\") are market specifications rather than AAFCO definition criteria.
