The amino acid minimums (arginine, lysine, methionine-cystine, tryptophan, threonine, etc.) were not new in 2016: they had been part of the profiles since the original Canine and Feline Nutrition Expert Subcommittee work of 1990-1992 (Dzanis, J. Nutr. 124:2535S-2539S, 1994) and appear in full in the 2013/2014 tables. Taurine minimums likewise predate 2016 and apply to cats only (0.10% DM in the 2014 cat profile; 0.10% DM dry / 0.20% DM canned per the US profiles dataset); the dog profiles set no taurine requirement.
